The Afghan Super Kazak Rug is a testament to the rich weaving traditions of Afghanistan, embodying the cultural exchange that defines its aesthetic. Hand-knotted with precision, this rug captures the essence of the Kazak style, renowned for its bold geometric designs and vibrant colour palette. The use of wool for the pile, supported by a sturdy cotton foundation, ensures durability while maintaining an authentic feel, making it a piece that speaks to both heritage and quality craftsmanship.

Upon observing the rug, one is immediately drawn to its intricate patterns and striking colours. The dominant red field is adorned with a series of geometric motifs, including stylised floral elements and abstract shapes, which may echo geometrical representations of traditional symbols like the Boteh. The interplay of deep blues and rich creams against the red backdrop creates a dynamic visual experience, while the detailed border frames the design with a sequence of repeating motifs, adding a sense of completeness and balance. These elements come together to form a tapestry that is both visually captivating and steeped in cultural symbolism.

Perfect for a spacious sitting room or to offset a wider hallway, this Afghan Super Kazak Rug offers more than just aesthetic appeal; it represents a bridge between past and present, a piece of art that can transform any space into a reflection of timeless elegance. Its bold design and vibrant colours can complement both traditional and contemporary interiors, serving as a focal point or harmonising element. By choosing this rug, you invite a piece of history into your home, a testament to enduring craftsmanship and cultural richness that will continue to inspire and captivate for generations.

How do I care for my handmade rug or carpet?

Handmade Persian and Oriental rugs should be vacuumed regularly, we always recommend that where possible you should use the suction-only setting on your vacuum as it is more gentle on the pile and will help prolong the life of your rug. However we do recognise that most people will use the brush bar and this of course does a more thorough job.

Key is to ensure the rug does not become overly dusty a small dust and debris particles like sand can be sharp and can cut through the fibres over time.

We do suggest you be careful nearer the tassels (fringes) and sides (selvages) of the rug as these get caught in a vacuum.

On top of this we recommend professional rug cleaning every 5 years or so, this will help remove ingrained dust and dirt and refresh the rug, ensuring it maintains its looks for years and even generations to come.
