Maymeh, found just 40 miles to the north of Isfahan, is a town which is responsible for some beautiful geometric rugs and runners.
Woven on cotton warp and wefts these rugs use luscious, soft wool. Very similar in design to Joshaghan but much higher in quality these rugs really are excellent examples of geometric design. Most have a single diamond shaped medallion in the centre with smaller diamond medallions inside, the centrepiece surrounded by geometric patterns and pictures. Dark reds and powerful blues with an ivory contrast is the typical colour scheme. These rugs are excellent quality and give any room an exotic, tribal feel.
