Kashmar rugs are highly detailed, many are very rare and valuable pieces, woven in the Khorosan province in the east of Iran.
Kashmars are distinguishable by their unique patterns, often borrowing various designs from different regions. The rugs are woven on cotton foundations, using soft wool of good quality. Light blue and cream are the most typical colours used in these rugs, often depicting a historical or garden scene and are very elegant carpets. Knot count can be anything from around 120 KPSI upwards. The quality of Kashmar rugs although not normally quite as astounding as their Kashan counterparts, even though many are similar in appearance, is exceptionally high. Kashmar rugs are extremely rare and beautiful masterpieces.
